Astdroid is a project created by Danny Pier that hopes to take a baby step in making space more accessible to the average Joe. It was publicly funded by 66 backers through the website Kickstarter.com on July 11th, 2009.
In one sense, the end goal of Astdroid is to create an Android application that anyone can install and, with the right materials, permissions, and methods, explore space on their own. In another sense, the end goal of Astdroid is to inpsire others. Though the project on its own might not look like much more than a flight of fancy, we hope that it can be a piece of the beginnings of something greater.
What that something greater might be? We hope you’ll help decide.
